Job Description Our organization the General Commission for Survey (GCS) is a government agency in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, based at Riyadh. Our mandate is to provide the services for surveying, mapping and digital geographic information to meet the needs of government and private sectors for the entire Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Currently, our Geographic Information Center (GIC) in the GCS is seeking for a full-time GIS professional for the position of GIS Senior Developer/Project Manager to develop a web-based GIS data, applications and services. The development will include a Geo-portal that will provide the users with access to the online GIS environment. Candidate should also provide GIS development and programming expertise and leads GIS analytical and technical issues in all GIS development lifecycle. In addition, candidate will also responsible to conduct GIS studies and offer technical solutions related to the different GIS components and enhancement of operation procedures. Candidate should be aware of new GIS trends, including the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). The candidate should have a good experience and proven abilities in project management particularly GIS projects both stand-alone and enterprise-wide environment. He should have the ability to plan and manage a project from conceptualization stage up to its final product and delivery. He should possess management skills that include staff administration, project management, definition of user requirements, project definition and scoping, time and cost estimation, feasibility studies, implementation plans, budget review, preparation of project proposals and reports.
