If you’d like to work at the top of the industry, consider our opening for a GIS Specialist in our URS Austin office:The Austin office is seeking a technically proficient, self-motivated, forward-thinking, and quality-driven GIS Specialist. The successful candidate will utilize past experiences to:• Effectively develop and manage geospatial data;• Conduct spatial analysis and summarize results in technical reports and presentations;• Cultivate internal/external client relations and help to foster business opportunities; and • Develop geospatial applications to improve efficiency and effectiveness of business operations and complement core offerings of the company. This position will provide the opportunity to collaborate with scientists, engineers, and planners across a variety of disciplines in an effort to create geospatial solutions that deliver efficiency and enhanced decision support.The selected individual will work within the Infrastructure Group and report to the GIS/Planning Services Team Leader. This is a non-supervisory position.
Job Requirements
Qualified candidates must have a BA or BS in Geography, Computer Science, or related field. A minimum of 2 years experience applying, integrating, and developing geospatial technology is required as is working knowledge of ESRI Software Suite and Relational Database Systems (SQL Server/Oracle). Must have prior experience with spatial analysis, database management, and application development. Must be able to work well within a team environment with diverse personalities and disciplines.
