Exceptional candidates may be appointed at Reader/Professorial level. Overview

The Atlanta Regional Office Geosciences Group of Geosyntec Consultants performs roughly $1.2 MM annually of comprehensive environmental site assessment and remediation services to several industrial clients, including several Fortune 50 corporations with significant liabilities under USEPA’s CERCLA (“Superfund”) regulation. A critical component of our work is data management, including relational database (both desktop and client/server) design, building, and maintenance; Geographic Information Systems (GIS); validation of chemical data from analytical laboratories; and website design and maintenance. At present, these tasks are fulfilled by environmental professionals; however, we desire to advance our practice by recruiting a highly qualified individual with specific training in GIS application development and data management.

Position Description:
We seek an application developer with experience in GIS programming of Web, Database, and Desktop applications as well as database maintenance for the environmental consulting industry. Initially, this professional will be trained in our standard operating protocols of database administration and GIS work product preparation as well as laboratory data management and validation. They will support our ongoing operations through a focus on database management, report generation, and figure preparation. However, it is expected that the developer will take the initiative to develop tools and procedures to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and transferability of data-intensive work products. Such protocols may include programming of automated routines for analytical data evaluation within GIS applications and the expansion of our website development practice.

Minimum Requirements:

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field. Academic training in environmentally-related disciplines, such as geology, civil/environmental engineering, water/natural resources, or environmental studies is also a plus.

Tools and Technology is responsible for deploying new equipment, hardware and software to NAVTEQ’s field data collection organization. This includes, for example, Global Positioning Systems, Inertial Measurement Units, Video Cameras, In-Car PCs, and Map Editing Software.

Systems Engineers work with equipment engineers and business process owners to analyze technology needs; evaluate and recommend solutions; install equipment, hardware, and software; resolve field problems remotely and/or on-site; work with vendors to improve products; assist in planning for projects and deployments; and developing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
- Develop user and operational requirements and advise project teams concerning design, engineering, sourcing, fabrication/assembly, installation, testing, maintenance and upgrading of field equipment
- Assist in identifying external providers of equipment and services, and work with external suppliers and the purchasing department to ensure that parts and supplies are in stock and available for installation and replacement

- Set-up and maintain bench testing and diagnostic instances of field equipment to facilitate trouble shooting
- Work with other departments to ensure smooth repair, enhancement, and deployment of systems with minimal impact on day-to-day operations
- Provide training on systems to the training group (train the trainer) or to users directly on an as-need basis
- Assist with writing technical user documentation for field system solutions
- Provide second and third level helpdesk support when users encounter problems
- Ensure initiatives are executed according to quality standards and other business objectives

Requirements:
- Education: degree in computer science and/or automotive/avionics electronics or degree in Geography or Geographic Information Systems along with relevant technical experience
- Work Experience: minimum of 3-5 years working with installed and after-market avionics or automotive systems; experience with in-car computers a plus
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware, Windows Operating System, and associated tools for diagnosis and repair
- Above average diagnostic and problem solving skills, and ability to develop and recommend innovative solutions to problems
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills, commitment to team work and excellent interpersonal skills; ability to interact with users and managers, and to work in a collaborative team environment

Job Summary:
The Image Analyst is responsible for supporting the Reconnaissance and Analysis (R&A) eradication mission at Patrick Support Division (PSD) and Forward Operating Locations (FOL). The Image Analyst will work as a member of an U.S. Department of State (DoS) International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) Office of Aviation (OA)-contractor team. As a member of the team, the Image Analyst responsibilities may include, but not be limited to conducting multispectral image analysis using COTS software in support of the US Dept. of State Air Wing mission. Acquire, organize and integrate geospatial data and imagery into an enterprise geodatabase using ESRI GIS software (Server & ArcSDE). Populating and maintaining a worldwide imagery database; support activities include preparing and delivering presentations and written reports and the export of image products to operational usage. Principle Accountabilities
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Knowledge & Skills
