Position Description:

ArdentMC is seeking to establish a small team of developers located in Maui, HI to support GIS development for Department of Defense, Homeland Security, and Justice programs. Project Overview:

Provide Department of Homeland Security and Department of Justice (DOJ), Geospatial Management Office (GMO) customers with innovative, enterprise class GIS solutions leveraging Web 2.0 architectures. The Geospatial Information Infrastructure is a services based solution to support the GIS needs of the Departments internal (DHS/ DOJ Components) and external (State/ Local) customers. The successful candidate will have a background in web based GIS application development using a variety of COTS/ GOTS based products. Additionally, the successful candidate will possess innovative thoughts in the application of GIS to solve enterprise wide situational awareness, geospatial analytics and information sharing challenges.

ArcGIS 9.3, Java, JavaScript, Flex, REST Web Services, OGC Compliant Web Services, Advanced Analytical Modeling, Agile development experience, Single sign on, Geo-processing task development

Responsibilities:


The successful candidate will work within a team environment and under the Agile rapid development methodology to design, coding and implement GIS and GIS enabling capabilities in support of the DHS/ DOJ GII. Development activities and responsibilities include:

• AJAX-based client applications
• KML-Based Data Integration
• Google Earth Enterprise Server
• ArcGIS Server 9.2 or 9.3
• SAML compliant single sign on solutions
• Dynamic Image Manipulation and Image Merging
• REST-based service architectures
• Tiered caching implementations for web services
• Web Mapping / Web Feature Services
• OGC Compliant Mapping Capabilities
• XML-based System Integration
• SOAP-based web services providing consistent integration points
• Data Management & Exploitation
• Advanced Analytical Modeling


Qualifications:


• 6+ Years of full lifecycle software development experience.
• Strong understanding of Web 2.0 architectures including AJAX based user interface constructs
• Web Services implementations and invocations via protocols/techniques including SOAP and REST
• Experience operating within modern relational database environments including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle
• Ability to learn new techniques/technologies and quickly apply them in practice
• Demonstrated proficiency in understanding written system specifications along with the ability to code software based on such specifications
• Ability to read and understand software code developed by other developers

Education/ Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
• 5 years + experience
